							Chaim
Yankel and Slava married in the Ukraine, probably in
Chernigov gubernia. They went to England for a year
in 1893-4 with their young family, but Chaim Yankel
failed to find employment as a musician, so they
returned to the Ukraine, to the city of
							Yekaterinoslav (now Dnepropetrovsk). They stayed
there until 1908, when they fled the
							pogroms,
emigrating to Milwaukee, WI in three groups over two
years. Chaim Yankel died within a year or so of this
							photo being taken. |
